The Journey

While choosing to pursue his passion, Brock becomes a fourth generation successor to an agricultural lifestyle that has roots spanning across the country.

At a young age, Brock proved himself a farmer; through and through. His passion was evident early on as he would spend countless hours pushing scaled replicas throughout the house. When he wasn't at school or out with Dad, he was farming the floors. After graduating from the main level hardwood, he would later go on to farm the unfinished concrete in the basement. He ran the operation up until Mom and Dad decided it was time to finish the space and turn it into a functional living area. Though, the toys are still down there. They have their own closet, and they’re as authentic as they come. At one point Brock was quoted, “…I’m never gonna stop playing with these”.

In a sense, he hasn’t stopped playing with them either. Instead, Brock’s toys did what every kid dreams of… they turned into the real thing. His desire to continually play with them has manifested into a greater purpose. A purpose passed down from one generation to the next. To help feed the world.

Though there aren’t many things he isn’t willing or able to figure out, for John, working alongside his kids is reason enough to take on a new endeavour. Since farming presents a seemingly endless supply of opportunity, John has conditioned himself not to shy away from many projects. Which is why it’s no surprise he’s offering his hand in the joint operation of B-Rock Farming.

He is often the voice of reason in the countless conversations had regarding the farm’s future, ultimately, he wants to see his kids succeed. John not only brings his years of experience, he also knows all too well what it’s like being in Brock’s shoes… remembering the similar debate and conversations had with his Dad some years ago.

The passion for farming is mutual between the two, and this operation is about building a solid foundation for the next generation of farmers to come.
